 Sunday Worship Schedule on Facebook live:
8:30 a.m. Traditional Worship, with hymns and sung liturgy
11:00 a.m. Contemporary Worship, with music from the Praise Team
These services will include the reading of the Word, prayers, and a message from Pastor Andrews. 


As most of you are aware, effective November 20, 2020, Governor Pritzker has amended the
statewide COVID mitigation guidance to limit public gatherings to groups of no more than 10
people. In keeping with this announcement, the Metropolitan Chicago Synod of the ELCA has
also issued recommendations for limiting worship services. Based on these facts, and in an
effort to protect the health of all our members, Hope Lutheran Church has decided to once
again close our building to all people except those necessary to physically put on our worship
services. This restriction is effective this Sunday, November 22, and until further notice.

Despite these circumstances, we will continue to livestream our services to our Facebook page
every Sunday, with live liturgy and music from Church. For the 8:30 service, Pat Avery and Lynn
Schneider will perform, while at 11:00, members of the Praise Team will provide music. We will
continue to offer drive-up communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, after the
second service. Please keep an eye on your bulletins, which will be emailed every week, for any
additional information.

I know these are uncertain times, and that there is a lot of apprehension about what to do as
time goes on. We have had many discussions, considered many possible options about how to
proceed, and prayed about it extensively.   Given all the information available, we feel that this
plan is the most faithful way to handle our situation. Please continue to pray for our ministry at
Hope, and the well-being of all our fellow citizens, as we continue forward into the winter.
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,  to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21

The Church office will be open during regular hours:
9:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. 

 
Pastor Jim continues to work from home, and will be available to address any spiritual needs you may have.  He can be contacted by phone or email.  


Romans 8: 38-39 says: “ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
 
Although we may be unable to be physically present together, we are all one in the Spirit,
and all united as God’s children in HOPE.
