Lent Worship 2018

  Lent Worship 2018
The season of Lent starts on
Ash Wednesday, February 14th.
This brings special opportunities for Worship and Fellowship.
The general theme of all Lenten Worship Services,
both Sundays and Wednesdays, will be
“Signs of Lent.” We will examine various signs we see along the roads that tell us what to do, and how signs along the way on our Lenten journey show us the way to Christ.
In addition to our regular Sunday morning worship at 8:30 and 11:00, Wednesday night Lenten Dinners will be held at 6:00 pm,
with Services following dinner at 7:00 pm.
And, coloring posters will be back! We will continue our project started last year, featuring drawings of the Stations of the Cross.

Please plan to join us during Lent, as we explore these themes:

Ash Wednesday, February 14

In our Ash Wednesday worship, we are reminded to make a U-Turn, turning away from our sins and turning back to God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

"Speed Bumps"

After His baptism, Jesus was dumped in the desert to be tempted for 40 days before His ministry could begin. We are reminded that we too encounter speed bumps on our journey, but the Kingdom still lies ahead.

Wednesday, February 21

We remember how Peter tried to put a Stop sign in front of Jesus on his way to the cross. But Jesus helped him (and us) to see that he could only stop when he reached the cross to save us all.

We remember that we are fed and nourished in our faith journey each time we stop to partake of the very body and blood of our Lord and Savior, found in the holy food of Holy Communion’s bread and wine.

Easter Sunday, April 1

"Road Work Ahead"

We celebrate that the work of our salvation is done through the resurrection of Christ from the dead. But as Jesus told the women at the empty tomb, there is road work ahead. Our job is to go and tell the Good News.
